Hi Karin, thanks so much for reading and for your reply! And thank you so much for the resource information. I have looked into in-patient treatment but it is so expensive (I’m in Australia and private health insurance doesn’t seem to cover it and public programmes have massive waiting lists. A lot of Aussies go up to Asia for treatment — heaps cheaper). So I have been going the DIY method and sometimes I do really well with it, otherwise not so great! Some of the reading I have done has been great for understanding addiction and the brain, plus the role of marketing too.

You certainly have made some wonderful wholesale changes to your life — that is so fantastic and a credit to you. I am def going to look into the work of Dispenza.

When I have been sober, even for those few short weeks I can see it is worth it — but then it gets a bit scary to be this “other person” too. But at the moment I am in a good headspace and am leaving for Nepal in 3weeks for a trek with a dear friend and so I am focussing on being fit and well for that and making the most of it and letting that break/release help me too :)
