Narcissistic Entitlement: Never a 50:50 Partnership

“Why should I have to do chores?” he condescendingly asked

The extent of my Narc’s entitlement to be the King of his and everyone else’s world was really brought home to me yesterday during a conversation (if such a thing is possible with a narcissist) about a bad fall I had last week due to overgrown plants draping over our front steps.

Rushing off to an exercise class last week, I stepped on the end of some long, frondy leaves while the other foot stepped through the resultant loop.

Like being caught in a tripwire, I fell forward down the stairs, sprawling onto the footpath.

Along with the embarrassment, a cracked phone screen and being showered with coffee from my keep cup, I also badly hurt my left ankle.

Badly. Eight days later it is still puffy, sore and badly bruised.

I was lucky, really, that I didn’t break it, or a wrist putting my arms out to stop my fall. Or badly clunked my head on the stone steps. Also lucky that no one else has had such a fall already and then sued us!

So while I have been a semi-invalid, laid up with an elevated left leg and ice, what has my Narc done about the dangerous overgrowth situation? Nothing.
