Totally agree. When my now 25yo son started at 4yo kindy I didn’t like how the teacher treated the boys as being naughty basically for: being boys. Running, jumping, a bit of rough play. We decided to bring forward his placement at a nearby boys only school to the next year (rather than wait til he was 10 as planned) and it was the best move. Boys were allowed to be boys- even if they wanted to come to school in a pink fairy dress as a boy in my son’s class did. They understood boys and my son thrived. He completed his whole schooling there (Prep- yr 12). Now he’s completing his Masters degree. Our younger son followed to the same school. Now? Nearly completed commerce degree. No prison.

For some context, single sex schools are quite common in Australia although all government schools are mixed. You have to go private for single sex which not everyone can afford. Most are church affiliated, but there are also Montessori, Steiner etc schools. A lot of private schools are also co-Ed, so there is a lot of choice. My boys’ school was Anglican (church of England).
